Building Effective Believers Committed to Transforming Our Times

About Us

We believe the church exists to complete the Great Commission given to the Church by Jesus is Matthew 28:18-20,

“Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

We say it this way, Highland Colony Baptist Church is about

Building Effective Believers; Committed to Transforming Our Times.

To be an effective believer includes four key characteristics that we describes as CORE at HCBC.

  • Committed: a growing disciple is committed to Christ and to His Church.

  • Obedient: a growing disciple is obedient to the teachings of scripture and God’s call on his or her life.

  • Responsible: a growing disciple takes seriously the responsibilities of a follower of Christ. We believe these responsibilities include:

Regular worship attendance.

Faithful participation in a life group.

Service in the church and community.

Connecting with others who need to know Christ and/or to the church.

Supporting the work of the church financially.

  • Energizing: a growing disciple should be one who encourages others with their presence and is a positive influence.

The Bible teaches that followers of Jesus will be known by their fruit. We describe this as transforming our times. Each person of HCBC has the unique privilege and challenge to be God’s transformation agent within their own unique sphere of influence. Collectively as a body of believers, we have the same opportunity and challenge to influence on a larger scale our schools, our community, our state, etc.
